Welcome to the Bill.
Kansas State University head coach Bill Snyder retired today after taking what Sports Illustrated called "the worst program in college football" to the brink of a national title. Cat fans everywhere appreciate the great things he has done, and will continue to do. Plans to rename KSU Stadium to Bill Snyder Family Stadium are underway, and it will be rechristened this coming weekend. I can't wait.

Dick Vermeil calls Snyder "the best coach in the country" while Barry Switzer acknowledges him as "the coach of the century." We were there for the glory years, boys.
It's time for him to step aside so KU can re-establish its Kansas dominance. It was a rough stretch with ol Snyder at the helm, glad to see him go.
brett, i shall smack you in the face next time i see you. KU will never dominate as long as the practice drills include "keep mangino from the buffet" and hot dog eating contests.
morgner,
you forgot our favorite practice drill: "keep the starters out of jail."
in all seriousness - snyder IS wildcat football...it's going to be tough to replace him. Glad I was in the stands last year to witness the hurt we put on KSU.
while we're here...might as well ask how is "Allen Field House West" doing?
So there was this article in the KU newspaper today (its so strange to work there ps) about how KState football will never again be good, how no one good will want to coach there and recruits will start choosing Kansas instead of KState. Come on now, pay some respect. I actually kind of teared up when I heard he was going to announce his retirement. Thanks for the memories Bill :)
don't worry becky, typical KU fan behavior. i'm surprised the news even reached KU it is so egocentric a university.
jay, do you call these boys your friends?
yes julie, they are friends, poor, youthful, ignorant, shameless, misguided friends.
I'll give you poor, youthful, and shameless, maybe slightly misguided...
I'm certainly not turning this into a KU vs KSU debate. Each are good schools with good people.
Snyder was a great coach, turned KSU around gave the school a good national presence. As I said before, I'm glad to see him go. I read the article becky was talking about, only time will tell, but certainly the program will take a drop in his absense.
