My first visitor...

...from more than 2 hrs away. David came over to the shore! It was a blast. We went to DC to hang out with Jason and Mike. It was incredible to be around people that know and love me well. We had a whirlwind Sunday starting with the Nats v Cubs game. The poor Cubs, they are bad. 7-1 Nats. After that we enjoyed a PLANET reception and enjoyed free sandwiches and free beer. My favorite thing the word free, with almost anything after it! Finished off the night by going to the Market Inn, which had the most interesting art, live jazz, and a great surf & turf. Lastly, Of course we had to go to Shelly's for a drink afterwards, the perfect end to any day.

On Tuesday we went to the beach with my friend Lindsay who went to camp as the girls leader. She did a fantastic job! I am very grateful, and pray that I will find a girl leader here in Easton for the many girls that come to Young Life. She slept the whole day. In the car on the way down it took her about 20 mins to fall asleep. We ate lunch and then went to the beach. It took her about 10 minute to fall asleep there. Guess what, on the way home she slept the entire way. I will mention that she wasn't feeling all that well, but still amazing she was able to sleep so much. David and I got our feet wet, and saw some dolphins, or porpoise, I don't know which, and took naps also. A very, very relaxing day. I'll do it again soon.

It was soooo good to be with David, and show him around my new town. It's been three months here now! Hard to believe.

Camp...

So yeah, July 15-21 I was at Lake Champion with 21 of my closest friends for the best week of our lives. It was crazy fun. Very different to be the "trip leader" what with all the responsibility that requires. I think I did the job well. Hard to believe around this time last year the fire in my heart was ingnited to leave Kansas and the comforts of home. The Lord has changed my life for the better, for eternity, by leading me to a new home.

I am glad I didn't miss it:

Fun in DC, as per usual...

it was indeed a happy 4th of july. went to shenandoah with mike and walked around in the woods. we got really sweaty, and saw two bears, not necessarily in that order.

we also went to the mall (the one with the monuments, not with the gap). saw the best fireworks show i've ever seen. ethan fell asleep. he is weird.

here are some pics. check out mikes sweat.
